The 3rd ganeration abacus is a new generation abacus made up of columns of 9 beads. It is an improved and modified version of its traditional predecessor, and only requires students to memorize 2 sets of Formulas (+ 10 and - 10). Thus students can relate better to mathematics especially when progressing to normal MOE curriculum in primary schools.
Advantages of 3rd Generation Abacus
Like its traditional counterpart, the 3rd generation abacus course can improve one's memory and thinking skills, and also inculcates interests in mathematics in the pupils. One can also learn how to add and subctract using both abacus and mental calculation very quickly through this course.
At the same time, the pupil can take part in grading examinations for both abacus and mental calculations, similar to the traditional abacus course. Generally pupils can progress faster through the grading examinations via the 3rd generation abacus course than its traditional counterpart!
- Lesser formulas
- Easier to understand
- Learning made more interesting and enjoyable
- Fast track to learning mental calculation
- Close relation to mathemetics
- Same benefits as traditional abacus
